Some backfill now that we are home – Cotswolds – 15 October
I was prompted to do this catch up after reading about the behaviour of visitors to the village of Bibury, our first stop on this day out – setting up lunch tables in the River Coln, taking phots of homes through the letterbox (door mounted as they are in the UK). Aside from having to park “out of town”, we were fortunate not to be hassled by 20,000 other visitors as sometimes happens at peak times.

And so we headed north west to Bourton-on-the-Water aka Venice of the Cotswolds where there were lots of people – Thursday?
The first of many bridges spanning the mighty River WindrushHa ha – this one I did edit out the selfie-takers. The latest must have gadget is a stand on which you mount your phone and take your influencer photos 😊Wall to wall ice cream shopsThe more relaxed section of the river
And back to the beating heart of BOTW – shopping bonanza including everything you would want for your dog – we found the English are very relaxed about where they take their dogs – everywhere!
Far from the madding crowd . .
Last stop – Sudeley Castle and Gardens – with a very royal history – Henry, Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth, Richard III, Charles I, and laid waste by the iconoclast Oliver Cromwell. It lay abandoned for 200 years until bought by the glovemakers – the Dent Brothers
