Back on the mainland – 30 September

A quick catchup – lots of Skye photos to work through as we have had indifferent wi-fi and phone cover out of Portree – Port Ruigh . . .

On the road from Portree to Kylerhea – the obligatory waterfall!

After negotiating with the locals for road space . .

On single lane roads . . .
Mind you this was the only traffic we encountered on this section of road.

We arrived at . . .

For a 15 minute ferry crossing to . . .

Glenelg Ferry landing

On board . . .

And ably assisted by the canine crew . .

`More cross country on single lane roads to . . .

Lookout plaque at Ratagain Pass
Count from the right for the Five Sisters

Lunch overlooking this most photographed castle – we were a bit over castles and out of time so this one got a photo only . . .

Eilean Donan

Followed by a visit to a chocolate shop (of course) and pressed on to Fort Augustus – crazy with tourists so that one got a miss too, and Fort William and along the way the Bridge of Oich . . .

Closed for inspection so this is as close was we could get

Penultimate stop for the day. Drumnadochit to feed the heilan coos . .

and finally to Urquhart Castle overlooking Loch Ness – yep ABC
