Wet and dreary this morning – not whether it is going to rain, just how much it is going to rain.
So SWMBO decided that a tour of Waterford Crystal sounded interesting 😊 and dry…

Such a pity that it was wet – as we drove in to Waterford several attractive murals stood out – this one across the street from the House of Waterford.
And a little of irish history – the hope was that a Free Ireland would be for both Protestant and Catholic – hence the orange and the green of the Irish tricolour . . .

The tour took us through all steps of the crystal production process, from blowing to cutting and engraving. Cutting apprenticeship only, is 8 years plus a two year arts degree.
