Ireland Road Trip – September 2026

Yep – our favourite airline again – first stop Singapore – London – Dublin, picking up a car and first stop is Trim – first bloody castle and a shop.

Sue was very impressed by the boy in the middle . . .and Fred was just envious🤣

So the question is – why are airport gates so bloody far from immigration/customs etc – Singapore, Heathrow and Dublin – guilty as charged. So here we are 40 hours later bedded down at The Leck Farm – right next door to Newgrange – one of only two World Heritage sites in Ireland . . .

And heilan coo??? – guardian of Newgrange . . .

While making friends with the kids . . .

For the Aussies reading this, when was the last time you saw a Golden Fleece servo?

It would not be Ireland without another bloody castle – the first of many – in Trim – largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland . . .

Ooops – this one is the oldest bridge in Ireland (so we are told)

Barbican gate ca 12thC

To bed – recovery time – then 3 hours tomorrow at Newgrange . . .
